Pick Up Shifts
What your staff see on their phone. Dropped and open shifts they are eligible for, with a request button and the status of anything they already asked for.
How shift coverage works
Coverage is employee-driven and manager-approved. ScareForce never reassigns a shift on its own.
Employee drops the shift
From My Schedule, an employee releases a shift they can’t work and gives a reason.
The shift posts to the marketplace
It shows as “Dropped” for eligible staff and is flagged in red on your schedule.
Staff request it
Eligible employees see it under Pick Up Shifts and request it, optionally with a note.
You get notified and decide
Managers in scope are notified of each request and approve or decline.
The shift is reassigned
Approval reassigns the shift and notifies the employee who picked it up.
No group text, no spreadsheet, and no shift changing hands without a manager saying yes.

How the reliability score works
Every employee has a score from 0–100, recalculated from the last 90 days of shift outcomes. New employees start at a neutral 75 until they have history.
Attendance rate
Completed shifts against no-shows. The largest single factor.
Drop rate
How often an employee releases a shift they were assigned.
Punctuality
Late arrivals as a share of completed shifts.
Marketplace pickups
Shifts voluntarily claimed from the marketplace.
These weights apply once an employee has picked up at least one marketplace shift. Before that, marketplace pickups are left out and the remaining weight moves to attendance (60%) and drop rate (25%), so nobody is penalised for a signal they haven’t had the chance to earn.
↑ Raises the score
- +Shift completed
Clocked in and worked the assigned shift.
- +Marketplace pickup
Claimed an open or dropped shift and worked it.
- +Recent good behaviour
Shifts in the last 30 days count at full weight; 31–60 days at half; 61–90 at a quarter.
↓ Lowers the score
- −No-show
Scheduled but never clocked in. Counts against attendance and drop rate at once.
- −Shift drop
Releasing an assigned shift, including in advance.
- −Late arrival
Clocking in after the shift start time.
Score tiers
Consistently completes shifts and picks up extras.
Dependable. Occasional drop or late arrival.
Some inconsistency. Worth watching for a pattern.
Frequent drops or no-shows.
Scores recalculate after each shift outcome is recorded and again on a nightly pass. Cancelled and excused shifts are excluded, and anything older than 90 days drops out of the calculation entirely.
